Declaration

You must read and agree to the following declaration. Please read this page in full as you must comply with each and every requirement in order that we may provide a quotation and that your risk meets our acceptance criteria.

Our holiday home insurance provides cover for UK residents who own a second home which is used or let as a holiday home. We do not provide cover for serviced apartments, corporate lets, property let on a long term basis or property with any other business use other than holiday home usage.

Non-disclosure or incorrectly obtained cover may lead to your policy being deemed invalid.

  • permanently unoccupied
  • being renovated or in the course of construction
  • your main residence or any part thereof
  • a property in an Alpine area/winter ski and/or sports resort
  • currently being or planned to be converted, extended or renovated
  • on the market for sale or planned to be sold in the policy 12 month period

  • you, the applicant and property owner, reside in the UK on a permanent basis
  • if the property is located overseas it is connected to mains water and electricity
  • the premises is in a good state of repair and will be properly maintained
  • you are not applying for planning permission on any part (or all) of the property
  • you own the property or have exchanged contracts to purchase the property or have a completion date within 30 days.

You must be able to agree to all eleven points of the criteria listed above, by proceeding you are confirming you have read, understood and comply with this declaration.

Claims Disclosure

Insurers pass information to the Claims and Underwriting Exchange register, run by Insurance Database Services Ltd (IDSL). The aim is to help us to check information provided and also to prevent fraudulent claims. When we deal with your request for insurance, we may search the register. When you tell us about an incident (such as a fire, water damage or theft) which may or may not give rise to a claim, we will pass information relating to it to the register. The proposal and the information provided in connection therewith contains statements upon which Underwriters will rely in deciding to accept this Insurance.
