Ideally, you\u2019ll want to be within a couple of hours so you can visit your holiday frequently.<\/p>\n<p>After analysing our data, based on the ownership of nearly 1,000 holiday homes in the UK \u2014 we found that owners, on average, lived 121 miles away from where their holiday home was situated.<\/p>\n<p>Average distances from a main residence to a holiday home:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Cornwall: 220 miles<\/li>\n<li>Devon: 163 miles<\/li>\n<li>Norfolk: 88 miles<\/li>\n<li>Lake District: 176 miles<\/li>\n<li>Edinburgh: 105 miles<\/li>\n<li>Northern Ireland: 131 miles<\/li>\n<li>Peak District: 103 miles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000080;\"><strong>Where to buy\u2026..<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The most profitable locations tend to be countryside destinations with year-round appeal such as the Cotswolds and Cumbria.
