How do I use the online quotes?

To start your quote, simply choose the number of days you require insurance for and the sum insured. If you require additional cancellation cover on top of the standard £1,000 sum insured, select your choice from the drop down list. (e.g. if your holiday costs £1440, choose £1500.) To proceed with the insurance simply complete the online proposal form giving all the required information and pay online.

Once we have processed your proposal form and confirmed payment, you will be issued with a certificate of insurance via e-mail.

You can pay by cheque if you would prefer, simply select this option, print off your proposal form and post it with a cheque as instructed.

The premium quoted covers everybody in the holiday party.

What are the Principal Exclusions?

These are just some of the key exclusions, full details can be found in the policy wording.

  • This insurance excludes claims arising from pre-existing medical conditions.
  • The Underwriters will not be liable for any claim involving a person aged 81 or above.
  • The insurance must be taken out within two weeks of booking the holiday.
  • This insurance policy is only available to residents of the UK and only covers holidays in the United Kingdom/Channel Islands/N.Ireland.
  • The policy does not cover cancellation due to adverse weather conditions.

What is the claims procedure?

You must give written notice to Schofields Underwriting Agencies, as soon as is practicable but within 30 days FIRST, either by telephone on 01204 365080 (between 10 am and 5 pm Monday to Friday) give brief details of your claim and ask for a claim form OR write to Schofields Underwriting Agencies, Holiday Homes Division, Trinity House, 7 Institute Street, Bolton, BL1 1PZ.

Have your policy number (SUA/) to hand.

Fill in the claim form and return it with all the certificates, accounts, receipts, information and evidence required by the Underwriters. Always send originals and not photocopies. Please do not send any documents until you send in your completed claim form.

What is the policy excess?

The first £25 will be deducted from all claims. The excess is per cancelled/curtailed booking, not per person.

Who are the insurers?

Our UK holiday cancellation and curtailment insurance is Underwritten on behalf of certain Underwriters at Lloyd's.

What is IPT?

Insurance Premium Tax is levied by the Government and is included in our premiums.

What do I do if I want to cancel the policy after I have paid?

If the insurance does not meet your requirements please return it within 14 days of issue but before departure date. Provided no claims have been made your premium will be refunded.
